Lunch at Lau Pa Sat

This is one of my favorite local dish – round tofu, maybe fried, then sauteed with carrots and cabbage. I think there’s some chicken soup added. Good substitute of protein, but too much soya is also not good for the bones and joints, eh? I also had sweet and sour fish fillets, but they put in a lot of pepper, and the sauce and pepper just did not get along well. Too bad.

The stall was named Lau Pa Sat. Interesting, some people might think they represent the whole place. There’s a lot of renovation going on in Lau, by the way. I think the government is reviving Lau’s status as a food village of Singapore. The roofing still bears a semblance of its glory days, now the walls and stalls are being renovated to match the design of the roof. I think it’s going to be marvelous once done.
